In carrying out the tasks and duties of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS, we collect personal data directly from you. In the processing of personal data by the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS, you are the person concerned, i.e. the person about whom personal data are processed. If we process your personal data in accordance with specific legal regulations, failure to provide it could result in the inability to perform the tasks and obligations of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS.
Privacy policy regarding the persons concerned
We are legally obliged to disclose your personal data in the course of inspections, supervisory activities or at the request of authorised state authorities or institutions if this is required by special regulations (e.g. Act No. 171/1993 Coll. on the Police Force; Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data).
Your personal data will be stored securely, in accordance with the security policy of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS and only for the time necessary to fulfil the purpose of processing. Access to your personal data will only be granted to persons authorised by the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS to process personal data, who process it on the basis of instructions and in accordance with the security policy of the controller.
Your personal data will be backed up in accordance with the retention policy of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS in order to prevent a security incident. After the expiry of the retention period, or upon receipt of a request for deletion, personal data may be shredded or deleted in accordance with the Register Regulations of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS ensures data backup in accordance with the security requirements of the GDPR and Act No. 18/2018 Coll.

The storage of the personal data we process about you is covered by Act No. 395/2002 Coll. on Archives and Registers in conjunction with the Register Regulations of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

What rights do you have?
- Withdraw consent – where we process your personal data on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent electronically, at the address of the responsible person, in writing, by a notice of withdrawal of consent, or in person at the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of personal data we have processed about you on the basis of that consent.
- Right of access – you have the right to be provided with a copy of the personal data we hold about you, as well as information about how we use your personal data. In most cases, your personal data will be provided to you in written paper form unless you request otherwise. If you have requested this information by electronic means, it will be provided to you electronically where technically possible.
- Right to rectification – we take reasonable steps to ensure that the information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date. If you believe that the information we hold is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, please do not hesitate to ask us to amend, update or supplement this information.
- Right to erasure (to be forgotten) - you have the right to ask us to erase your personal data if, for example, the personal data we have collected about you is no longer necessary for the fulfilment of the original purpose of the processing. However, your right must be assessed in the light of all the relevant circumstances. For example, we may have certain legal and regulatory obligations, which means we may not be able to comply with your request.
- Right to restriction of processing - in certain circumstances you have the right to ask us to stop using your personal data. For example, where you think that the personal data we hold about you may be inaccurate or where you think that we no longer need to use your personal data.
- Right to data portability - in certain circumstances, you have the right to request the transfer of the personal data you have provided to us to another third party of your choice. However, the right of portability only applies to personal data that we have obtained from you on the basis of your consent or on the basis of a contract to which you are a party.
- Right to object - you have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. If we do not have a compelling legitimate ground for processing and you object, we will no longer process your personal data.
- The right to file a petition to initiate a personal data protection procedure - if you believe that your personal data is being processed unlawfully or illegally, you may file a complaint with the supervisory authority, which is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Park one building, Námestie 1. mája 18, 811 06 Bratislava; Slovak Republic; phone number: +421 /2/ 3231 3214; https://dataprotection.gov.sk. In the case of electronic submission of the proposal, it is necessary that the proposal meets the requirements of Section 19(1) of Act No. 71/1967 Coll. on Administrative Proceedings (Administrative Procedure Code).
