It presents articles of Slovak and foreign scholars focused on general and theoretical questions of linguistics and its methodology including contemporary general, structural, functional, pragmalinguistic and cognitive linguistics, comparative works and also studies from other disciplines of the humanities dealing with philosophical or cultural aspects of language. The journal is published three times a year. All submitted articles are double-blind peer reviewed by at least two reviewers. In addition to Slovak, it also publishes papers in English, German and Slavic languages. In 2016, the number of issues per year was expanded from two to three, with the intention of producing at least one issue each year to a particular area of linguistics and the latest results coming from it. This thematic focus is often associated with a major figure in Slovak linguistics. The editors want to draw attention to theoretical and methodological issues while motivating local authors to develop them further.
